    【开放日】走进VBS,聆听茁壮拔节的声音——VBS初中校园开放日活动圆满举行

    转眼学期已经过半,学生是如何快乐成长,茁壮拔节的呢?


    Half of the semester is gone. How have VBS students enjoy their studies and make progress?

     

    万双网讯  为了让家长全面了解孩子在万科双语学校的学习与生活状况,感受万双各项特色课程对孩子成长与终身发展的重要价值,加强家校协作,构建家校命运共同体,11月15日上午,万科双语学校举办初中校园开放日活动。七八年级150多名家长应邀进入语文、数学、英语、历史、Drama、Art等课堂听课,深入体验VBS课堂教学特色,并与老师深度交流,全方位了解孩子在校学习生活情况,与孩子共同成长。

     

    VBS invited parents to visit VBS at the Open Day for Junior Secondary School on 15th November in order to have a comprehensive understanding on the study progress at school. Besides building a community of shared future and strengthening cooperations between families and school, this session enabled parents to see the values of all VBS lessons had on students' growth and their life-long development.

     






    More than 150 Parents attended the Open Day to know better on features of VBS lessons and the study life of VBS students.. They communicated with teachers after taking trial Chinese, Mathematics, History, Drama and Art classes for them to grow with their children.

     

    本次家长开放日展示活动的形式和内容较以往有了尝试与突破。它以“全面了解学生的成长”为主线,将“初中综合素质测评、沉浸式课堂体验、班级特色家长会、科任教师专业分享”四个板块紧紧联系在一起,全面立体地给家长展示了学生在这段时间的拔节成长。

     

    Novelty and breakthroughs were observed in the presentations at this Open Day. The main focus was 'Fully understanding the growth of students', four subsections 'Overall performance rating', 'Immersive trial classes', 'Featured parent-teacher conference', 'Professional sharing by subject teachers' were closely related to display the progress achieved by students during this period.

     

    1  综合素质测评会

    Meeting on overall performance rating


    根据深圳教育局的“初中学生综合素质表现评价”工作的部署,学校综评工作校级管理员伍健老师针对评价指标层次体系、评价内容、评价流程、学生和家长的职责、平台使用、本学期的工作安排等几方面,对初中的家长们进行了详细的讲解和工作梳理,进而为家长在后期学生综合素质评价家长端和学生端的操作解决了后顾之忧。

     

    According to the overall performance rating for Junior Secondary School students designed by Shenzhen Education Bureau, person-in-charge Mr Wu Jian has explained in details about the system, procedures, content of the performance rating. He also summarised the responsibilities of both students and parents to clarify the doubt they may have when using the system in this semester and in future.

     






    2  沉浸式课堂体验

    Immersive trial classes

     

    开放日这天,来访的家长们可根据当天课表,选择跨年级、跨班、跨学科进行听课,全方位了解学??纬?,以及孩子在课堂中的真实情况。


    Parents could choose to listen all classes available to know the school curricula and students' performance in class during the Open Day.

     

    源动力课程丰富多彩,形式多样。引导学生自主探究、合作交流,学生在情境中掌握学科知识脉络,在轻松有趣的氛围内学习对生活有用的知识,获得能力的训练和思维的拓展。

     

    Inner Strength program offered students variety. It guided students to conduct independent studies, communications and cooperations to acquire the knowledge, expand their thinking and train their abilities.

     

    历史: 高爽老师立足于做有思想力的教学,使历史变得不再是记忆背诵的枯燥学科,而是寓教于乐。在历史中融入生活的元素,让每个学生参与其中,真正做到以史为鉴,使学生明智,增强学生的全局性理解力,培养学生历史思维能力。

     

    History: Ms Gao Shuang strived to achieve teaching by thinking. She made History an interesting subject so that students did not study by rote learning. She added life components into History classes and asked every student to take part in it so that students improve their thinking abilities in History, thus reinforcing their understanding on the bigger picture.

    地理:王文静老师创设了一个关于《小水滴的梦想之旅》的优美情境,学生们成为小水滴的兄弟姐妹,跟随小水滴的脚步一起探索中国的河流。引导学生自主探究、合作交流,学生在情境中掌握地理知识脉络,在轻松有趣的氛围内学习对生活有用的地理。

     

    Geography: Ms Wang Wenjing created a scene on 'The travel of water drops' so that students followed water drops to explore the rivers in China. Students were able to master Geography in context.

    生物:何先姬老师以学生为主体,通过引导学生自主探究,借助小视频展示胚胎发育过程,培养学生形成结构和功能相适应的生命观念以及归纳与概括的生物学思维。

     

    Biology: Ms He Xianji guided students to do independent studies and used video clips to demonstrate the development of embryo. This enabled students to formulate life ideologies towards appropriate strucuture and function as well as concise biological thinking.

    物理:曹琛康老师以复习引入,提出思考,将课堂引入到学生探索的心理??翁蒙?,学生探索为主,分组实验,自主探究实验结论并总结分享结果,探索和发现物理的美。

     

    Physics: Started from revision, Mr Cao Chenkang raised thought-provoking questions to draw students' attention towards exploration. Students explored and experimented in groups to reach conclusions which would be shared later, hence they found the beauty of Physics.

    加力课程推力课程让家长们感受到了万双“为未知而教,为未来而学”的国际化和前沿教育视野。从孩子在课堂上自信而开心的表现,以及与教师常态自然的互动中,家长们不仅感受到万双教师热忱,与孩子亦师亦友的师生关系,同时课堂的深度也让家长们感受到了学校创新课程实施的扎实和深入。

     

    The Extra Mile and Booster programs showed the international and front-end educational vision 'teaching for the unknowns and study for the future'. Parents were able to experience the depth of the innovative lessons conducted by VBS when they observed confidence shown by their children in class and interactions with teachers whom displayed professionalism and passion in teaching. 

     

    Art课通过对实物的观察、动手创作,训练孩子观察能力、记忆能力、思维能力、想象能力、语言能力、动手能力。

     

    Arts classes trained students with various abilities - observation, memory, thinking, imagination, lingual and working by observing the object and creating with their hands.



     






    Drama课着力于帮助学生建立自信、促进学生交流、合作,同时培养学生的移情能力、感同身受能力。图为Oli在课程组织戏剧教学?;熬缭谖杼ㄉ系某氏?。

     

    Drama classes enabled students to build confidence and empathy when facilitating cooperations and communications among them. Oli was organising drama teaching upon presentation on stage.

    人工智能课编程思维是面向未来的基础必备思维,人工智能课旨在培养孩子们逻辑思维能力,发现问题、用编程思维解决问题的能力。图为吴萍老师的Arduino机器人编程课。

     

    AI (Programming thinking is an essential thinking for the future, AI classes aim to develop logical thinking, the ability to spot the issues and apply programming to solve them. Ms Wu Ping's Arduino Robotics Programming Class.

    丰富多彩、维度各异的教学活动向家长展示了万双“以课程为主体”的理念??纬痰亩嘌?,让家长感受到了教师在教学活动设计与组织上的专业性和教育性。

    This variety of classes has demonstated the VBS ideology 'Curriculum is the key'. Parents are able to see the educational and professional values in designing and organising teaching activities.

     

    3   感恩相伴,分享成长

    Sharing the growth with gratitude

     

    初中各位班主任从“课程架构、班级建设、家校共建、成长回忆”四个环节给家长们分享了孩子从入学以来在学校的学习和生活情况。

     

    Class teachers recall the study progress each student has made since the start of semester based on four sections - 'curriculum structure', 'class building', 'building of family and school' and 'grow diary'.









    在万双培养“人格健全,学力卓越,具有国际视野和家国情怀,敢于创造美好未来的中国公民”理念的指引下,孩子在“源动力课程、加力课程、推力课程”三个维度中,各项能力得到了训练,综合素养得到了提升。在“成长回忆”环节,很多家长在视频和照片中看到孩子在学校的茁壮拔节、快乐成长的温馨回忆,留下了感动的泪水。


    Under the school philosophy 'strive to nurture Chinese citizens who possess academic excellence, international horizons, patriotism and dare to create a better future', students improve their abilities and based on 'Inner Strength', 'The Extra Mile' and 'Booster' curricula. At the 'Grow diary' part, parents shed tears as they see the wonderful memories on how students learn and grow.

    4.  专业解读,科学引领

    Professional declassification

     

    各班科任教师做了分享,内容包括:对任教学科做的学科架构分析、所教班级的学生学情分析以及以后携手共进的方向。任课教师鞭辟入里的分析,让家长们仿佛吃了一颗定心丸,对后续如何配合学生学科学习的工作有了更为明晰的认识。

     

    Subject teachers also present student analysis with the strucuture of their subjects and the measures parents can take to help teachers to improve students. After listening to the in-depth analyses, parents have a better understanding on their roles in assisting their children's learning in future.

     

    半天的开放日活动,很多家长表示收获颇丰,他们不仅更好地理解了万双的人才培养理念,感受到学校先进课程执行层面的多样化,零距离地了解了孩子在校的学习生活状态,而且感受到万双老师们的尽职敬业,专业与创新,同时也体会到了教师工作的艰辛,由衷地感谢老师的辛勤付出。

     

    After this half-day event, parents have learned many things such as VBS ideologies to nurture students, the various methods adopted by the school on executing the advanced curricula. They also deeply appreciate the constant effort put in by teachers who demonstrate the professionalism, innovation and dedication after watching their children on the spot.

     




    不少家长说:“家长开放日虽然只有短短半天时间,却让我们走进课堂,亲子共学,零距离感受学校的优质教育;让我们走进孩子,倾听心声,了解他们在学校学习和生活;走进学校,参与评价,从而更好的配合学校,共同关注每个孩子的健康成长!” 

     

    Many parents have said, 'Despite it is only a half-day event, we have witnessed the quality education that the school offers by learning with children in their classrooms. We understand our children better by getting to know their school lives and entering the school so that we can work with the school better and keep track on their growth.'

    Parents are not just the responders, participants, they are the educators and teammates with schools when it comes to educating children with cooperations between family and school in education. Led by Principal Yang's intelligence, VBS consistently establishs the ideology 'Parents are the sources of innovation and resources for organising, building, implementing and evaluating curricula, hence building a community of shared future between family and school'. VBS actively organises featured activities to promote cooperations between family and school in education so that parents are able to experience VBS special curricula and have an accurate view on curriculum. Hence they put up all strength in cooperations and contribute to offer a greater variety of VBS curriculum which facilitates the holistic development of students.

     

    The purpose of schools is to educate students, the dream of families is to see their children achieve success. Both the schools and families wish to make every student grow even better. The Open Day has brought VBS and parents closer and facilitated their communications. With this cooperation, the dream to achieve such education is set to be achieved.
