    【跨学科融合】当“狼”遇上橡皮泥——VBS外教进行ESL与Art课融合教学

    万双网讯  为创设富有生命活力的课堂情境,鼓励学生放飞思维,提升学生创造能力,日前,万科双语学校ESL老师和艺术课老师进行了一次跨学科融合教学。

     

    VBS News Net:  VBS teachers from ESL and Arts had brought up an integrated class to open up students' imagination and creativity as well as to establish lively atmospheres in class.

     

    在外教老师指导的ESL和艺术合作学习项目中,学生们需要在ESL课上阅读《大灰狼与小灰狼》的故事,然后根据其中的四个主要故事来创作一个雕塑作品。

     

    In the cooperative study project conducted by  VBS teachers, students first had to read the story 'Big wolf and small wolf' on ESL class before making sculptures from four main stories in Arts class.

     

    《大灰狼与小灰狼》讲述的是两只狼在生活中学会了互相照顾,却从不互相说一句话。有一天,大灰狼去散步,回来的时候,小灰狼不见了。大灰狼非常担心,经过几个月不停地寻找,终于找到了小灰狼。他们最终相互表达了自己的感情,并决定继续保持朋友关系。这个故事告诉同学们,在友谊中,把你的想法传达给你在乎的人很重要。

     

    This story was about two wolves taking care of each other but without any communications. Some day the wolf went for a walk but found out his buddy was gone as he returned. He was worried and searched for months before two of them met again. They decided to be friends still after revealing their feelings to each other. The moral of the story was that it was crucial to relay your thoughts to someone you cared about in friendships.  

     

    同学们完成阅读后,在Art课上用橡皮泥制作自己的雕塑作品。形形色色、妙趣横生的作品充分展示了同学们的创造力、想象力。在五彩的森林里,大狼和小狼或躺在树下睡觉,或深情对视,或背靠背,或一个在树上一个在树下,或生长在光怪陆奇的森林里……同学们不仅完成了一项学习任务,还加深了他们对课文的理解,有效地学习英语词汇,提高了他们合作学习的能力。老师们在教学中以孩子为主体,鼓励孩子们的创造性思维和复述故事的热情,让孩子们学会从故事情节里获取艺术创作的源泉,有效提高了学生的动手操作能力和语言表达能力。

     

    As students finished reading, they began to make their sculptures by plasticine in Arts class. These sculptures were full of students' creativity and imaginations - two wolves slept under the tree in a forest, sat next to each other, or one on top and the other below. Not only did they completed a task, they also enhanced their understanding towards the text, learned English vocabulary and improved their abilities in cooperative studies. Teachers adopted student-centric teaching and encouraged them to think in a creative manner and retell the story. This enabled them to generate sources of creations from the plot and effectively improved their English language skills as well as craftsmanship.
































    VBS跨学科融合教学打破了学科之间的界限,把不同学科进行有效的融合,培养学生自主学习能力,主动构建学科知识及各科知识之间的相互融合。

     

    Broke the barriers among teaching different subjects in one class, VBS effectively nurtured students' ability to take on independent studies and to build the knowledge connections among different subjects.
